Coaching for Expat Families

Is your child struggling to adapt to his new environment and/or school? Is he having difficulties to find a new group of friends?

Has your child become disruptive at home and/or at school?

Is your usually extraverted teen isolating himself since you moved house?

The experience of dealing with an international life is not something easy to bear since it implies many transitions and challenges for the whole family. As an expat parent, balancing the demands of a new role in a foreign country and family life can be difficult. I will help you, and specially your child manage and overcome any negative emotion or feeling from having left places, family, and friends behind.

After your coaching sessions with me, you will be able to understand the needs of your child. You will feel more confident to offer support to your family during any transition period. Finally, your relationship with your child will improve and you and your child will (re)connect.

In addition to acquiring strategies to support your child during the process of growing, you will learn how to support your child in topics such as:

• Preparing to move abroad
• Being homesick
• Feeling of loneliness
• Culture shock
• Cultural awareness
• Re-entry culture shock (when returning to your home country)
• Developing own identity and sense of belonging
• How to keep your own culture alive
• If applicable, raising a TCK (Third Culture Kid – Child growing up in a country or culture other than their parents).
